I saved my egg for the afternoon break, and I ate it very slowly, first the white and then the yolk, dipping each small bite into salt and pepper. It tasted wonderful! I was able to make one egg last the full fifteen-minute break. When the yolk appeared, it was like the sunrise, even more delicious than the white! Later, when I came to the West and saw how people here take eggs for granted, I taught a few friends this way of appreciating a boiled egg, and they called it “eggs à la Phuong.”
